Smart. Agile. Tech-Enabled: The Era of BFSI Risk Management

| ABSTRACT

Everyone in the industry is talking about AI. But McKinsey research shows only 5% of companies are capturing its real benefit. Instead of adding to the noise about AI’s potential, this session focuses on one practical question: how do you execute it safely, efficiently, and at speed?

That question matters more than ever in Vietnam right now. The consumer finance market is rebounding, with new regulations — including the State Bank of Vietnam’s emerging AI governance requirements — putting risk management and efficiency back at the center of the agenda, even as external pressures test household income and borrowers’ ability to repay. Risk management has shifted from a compliance function into a strategy-driven, business-critical one, with credit risk a top concern for every institution.

Against this backdrop, lenders face a genuine balancing act: approving more, improving customer experience, protecting profitability, and staying compliant — all at once. The real challenge isn’t choosing between growth and risk; it’s achieving both. This session shows what that looks like in practice, drawing on how market leaders are embedding new digital capabilities — from data, through modeling, to governance — directly into how they manage risk.
