Mr. Kelvin Tanu Utomo is Head of Product and Solution for Visa Vietnam & Laos. He is a seasoned retail banking & digital payments professional with over 20 years of experience in diverse markets Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore.

In the last 5 years he had dedicated his professional work driving digital payment innovation in Vietnam and partnership with financial institutions, fintechs and large corporates.

Prior to VISA, Kelvin held diverse leadership and functional roles in retail banking and unsecured loan management with regional and
global banks such as Standard Chartered, ANZ and UOB.

He was awarded Indonesia’s Young Consumer Banker in 2014 and completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Monash University and Diploma in Canadian International Matriculation Program.

| ABSTRACT

Commerce is entering a new era in which artificial intelligence is transforming how transactions are initiated, while stablecoins are reshaping how value is stored, moved and settled. These shifts create opportunities for Vietnam’s banking sector, from more intuitive customer journeys and AI-assisted purchasing to faster, always-on domestic and cross-border money movement. Yet innovation at this speed also introduces new questions around identity, delegated authority, consumer control, asset integrity, interoperability, compliance and accountability. The session will discuss the principles for responsible scale and having security, resilience and trust to remain as foundation towards the new era of commerce for sustainable growth across Vietnam’s digital economy.
